While nothing beats having a real teacher that can sit down with you and teach you how to play, there are some helpful sites out there that can help you be a better player.
Here are some of my favorite resources for people that want to learn guitar:
Guitar Tab Sites:
ultimate-guitar.com: Probably my favorite guitar tab website…they have a lot of good tabs for chords, lead parts, drum and bass parts, and have most popular songs that people want to learn. Check out the star ratings to find the best tabs (4 or 5 stars are ideal)
Online Guitar Lesson Videos:
There are lots of great YouTube channels out there dedicated to teaching you how to play the guitar. Check them out!

Guitar Training Programs:
If you have a little money to spend, check out Guitar Pro 6. It’s a really awesome program that allows you to play along with tabs and slow down or speed them up while you learn. Also, you can transpose the chords and translate the tabs into different instruments if you also play the ukelele or banjo.
